Don't worry, I won't harp on ( Hi Karen K.) about my upbringing in socialistic Austria and all the benefits they get there (14 monthly salaries, free health care, free education incl. University, 8 weeks paid vacation, etc. etc.), I just needed a title to express what I want to say. I think. Not sure what I want to say.
Much has been said about those Alley Burgers at CHAR CUT, you can read about them here:

or read some more here:
I have never had one of their Alley Burgers (it's usually happening way past my suburban bed time), but what caught my eye was an article in Avenue Magazine telling us about a $15.00 "All at once lunch" at the same place.
See, they just got voted into the top ten new Restaurants in Canada. #6 to be exact.
Those kind of honors usually come along with an instant price hike and some other not so nice side effects. You know what I mean. Doormen, etc.
At this place it seems, the opposite happened. Those Alley Burgers are still only five bucks.
My fifteen dollar lunch today was served on a cafeteria style tray, with a cup of Cream of Cauliflower, a Brioche based Sandwich with Chicken Saltimbocca, a huge pile of great french fries, a home made pickle spear and for those who need to rush back to their cubicles, a couple of in house made Chocolate chip cookies in a paper bag to go. All very very good.
Not Tim Horton's made in a bucket sort of food.
Where is the socialism? Not sure if there is any. How about this? Without breaking your budget you can enjoy a good meal in one of the most exciting restaurants this city has to offer.
"Feed the masses, eat with the classes"? Go try it.
