MY FAVORITE AIR FRESHENER

Am I the only one who gets  headache from those chemical plug in air fresheners? I watched a Fussball Spiel at the Bar the other night and they had one of them plugged in. Went home with a headache and it was not from the third tier Gin they served....

One of the highlights of summers in France are the fresh fruits from all regions that come to market. No plastic tunnel products from Spain now, just fresh, local fruits. Which, if you let them sit in your kitchen while ripening to perfection, make an excellent air freshener.
My favorite are local Charentaise melons.  I only buy one at a time, let it sit inside the kitchen window for a couple of days and half the first floor smells like a fruit orchard.  Just pungent. If you enjoy fruit fragrance that is.

And when they are ready, cut them up with your other favorite fresh fruits and make that fruit salad you wish you'd get at the restaurant.  Only add fruits you actually like, none of those fillers....

As for the month where you can't find smelly fruits?  L'Occitane en Provence actually makes some great, fairly natural products. Maybe they buy all the leftover fruits from the markets and make fragrances.  We use a Peach flavored "home perfume" and no complaints about headaches.

THESE GIVE ME A BAD HEADACHE

THE FRAGRANCE OF FRESH FRUITS

MY FAVORITE AIR FRESHNER

VICTORIA WAS WORRIED ABOUT ONIONS ON HER FAVE CUTTING BOARD.....

MIX SOME LEMON JUICE INTO YOUR FRUITS

AND SOME MUSCOVADO.....

ACTUALLY A GREAT FRENCH AIR FRESHENER

Once in a great while I find a Cavaillon melon in the US. That is so true that they smell so heavenly and I forgot about that fact. There is nothing like fresh fruits. I love them all in summer, particularly short lived apricots. Those plug in air fresheners are not healthy at all.

Stinky cheese all year round, Melinda. Love some of it.

I agree with you Nadege, they can't be good for you. All chemicals in those plug ins.

Chemical air "fresheners" are full of chemicals. QED. So you're breathing in a mixture of whatever polysyllabic stuff they've mixed up to mimic the smell of a real melon. Very bad for you.
