A TRANSFORMATION

If you read this Blog for a while, you already know that with our house in France we also had a piece of raw, unrenovated space that we planned to do up for visitors.
Well, we present to you: The Studio. With the help of some really good guys, locally and from the UK, we were able to renovate this 35m2 (380sqft) space into the perfect guest suite.

The hard work, performed by a couple of fantastic guys from across the channel, was done way before Christmas and in time for our daughters Samantha and Lauren surprise visit for their mother's birthday. Ahead of schedule (minus the missing window) and on budget. They did a fantastic job. Contact me if you need the best crew in town...

But the small things, the decor and stocking up with stuff for cooking and such, took equally long. For no apparent reason really. In the winter we lost a bit of spunk, both Victoria and myself and had no desire to rush it together.  You know how it gets. Maybe tomorrow. Ah next week, when the sun shines....Which turned into summer. Oh well. No pressure. But now, we are very very happy to say we have a fantastic space for visitors. Still need a microave and a TV. But all else, it's done!

With its own entrance this studio is an ideal place for family, friends, guests, etc., to come and stay independent from our own schedule or presence. Perfect for two or the single traveler.  You are all welcome.

Wow! Quite a transformation and
done with such good taste. Saw
some horrific photos of flooding
in Calgary on CNN this evening.

Hello Sheila,

we are gutted about Calgary. Our daughter had to be evacuated, but she is safe.
Calgary is the city of volunteers, watch for the recovery. It will be a beacon for how to help each other.

Hi Melinda,
we plan to rent it, but not push it too hard.

It is beautiful!!
I am sorry to hear that your daughter was evacuated from Calvery and wish all the best -- so glad she is ok, but prayers for the others. Yes, a beacon of how to help others, we shall see the heart of Calgary volunteers.

We are so excited to finally meet in person and to stay in your lovely suite, just a couple more weeks! Kathy & Emily from Ohio, USA

Thats quite a lovely suite! I didn't have motivation to visit… until you opened the door. Something to think on!

There is so much more than that suite to convince you of visiting, Monica.

How about some of this food while you are exploring France:
