Not that I am complaining about what we have in France, fresh markets, fine cheeses, great wines and all the good stuff. And maybe it is more for nostalgic reasons, as most things we bought at Costco in the past were either clearly want items, or basic necessities. But yes, I miss it. I went to Costco yesterday. Memory lane?
Besides the new gluten free products we would find, besides some really good deals on non food items, it's also the customer service that is part of the deal when shopping. Have you ever had a problem with or at that store that did not get resolved to your full satisfaction? Full refunds for almost any reason, special orders from a different store if they were temporarily out of stock, always always customer first.
I ended up with buying almost nothing, which further points to Costco as a want store. But yes, that stainless steel Pizza oven is on my mind now.

Really nice post, shop for best pizza visit pizza oven and restaurant equipment .
I don't think you can call Costco "a shop" — it's a warehouse or big-box store. Have you tried to get into one of the Metro stores in France? You might qualify as a food professional.

A big "shop" it is. We made it into Metro Bordeaux with an Austrian membership card, however were refused in Angouleme. So very French.....inexplicable.
