GLUTEN FREE CINNAMON BUNS

5.30am. I am eating another one of Victoria's gluten free Cinnamon buns for breakfast. It's been a few days of trials and troubles. But finally, yesterday afternoon after a few FAILS (of which I am not allowed to publish images), she did it. The perfect gluten free Cinnamon bun.

You know, very much alike to the ones in the mall, when you walk by Cinnabon's in the food court, smell the sugar with Cinnamon, the icing and all. Yes, just like it.

It all started with Shauna's post (Gluten Free Girl), when I pointed out that there is only two things Victoria has not mastered yet. These and the Croissant. Well, don't throw out a challenge to Victoria.
The first couple of buns just were not right, a few things went wrong, but yesterday morning when I got up Victoria told me, she had an idea how to make the perfect one. Uhm OK. It's 5am and that's all you think about?? Who's idea was it to start GF PATISSERIE? It has completely consumed us now.
Poor Isabella, she does not know that our next family vacation will lead us to a gluten free mixing and packaging facility. And it's not near a beach either...

Those look insanely good and since it's breakfast time I really want one right about now. Any chance of you sending some to Baltimore???

Hi Faith,

Victoria does not use any preservatives in her baking, so the only way you are going to get one, is if you come and visit us....

or of course open a GF bakery with her recipes.

Those look incredible! We just made a batch a couple of days ago, and for some weird reason, my son Julian refers to them as "Judies." I have no idea how that came about, but he keeps asking for a Judy...I think it's going to be the new term for cinnamon bun in our house.

They look so wonderful. I might make another attempt today since mine didn't rise.

OMG, you have no clue how amazing these look! I had dreams of cinnamon buns the other night where I talked in my sleep to my poor boyfriend for an hour! These would have hit the spot!

Perfect looking, gooey buns! Nice work. Must be a tough job sampling all those treats. I need to drive down one of these days.

Celiac Restaurant Guide
We have recently become interested in the problems faced by people with celiac disease when they need to eat at restaurants. We have 2 members of our family who have been diagnosed with celiac disease. Both of them manage quite well when they eat at home preparing their own meals, but when they need to eat away from home things are not so good. Most restaurants don’t understand the problem, or simply don’t care to provide gluten free food. Having the person who waits on your table say, “We have no flour in our food”, just isn’t good enough!

So, how do you find restaurants that will serve you gluten free food, especially when you are away from home?

A national web site could be set up that would allow people with celiac disease to rate restaurants as to how celiac friendly their food was. Would that be of value?

We’d love to hear your thoughts.

You are both THE most spoiled and most clever man. ;-) LOL Love that photo with the layers. That's how I like to eat cinnamon buns ... picking apart the layers ...

Do you know if the GF Paterissere will be selling these, they look so good, and Cochrane is only a 20 minute drive.
