RICEWORKS

Victoria buys these rice based chips all the time, I never mentioned them.
Today, Isabella asked to take some to school for a snack, so let me tell you quickly.

I am not a favorite of potato chips or any kind of chips. Rice chips? Nah. Not for me. But they are gluten free, no transfat, made of whole grain rice (as compared to what??? Uncle Ben's?), tasty, colorful and so on. I am still not enthused about them. Personally.

BUT. The rest of my family loves RICEWORKS. Especially the Sweet Chili flavored ones. They do have a nice kick before the sweetness smoothes them out on your tongue.

Victoria buys them at Costco (LAAARGE bag), but I have seen them at Sobey's, Safeway and Superstore.

I have to agree with the rest of your family. Rice works and the Sweet Chili flavor are fabulous. Also a big favorite of mine. I first found them at Costco and lot of my non Celiac friends like them too.

I stumbled upon a great little coffee shop last night that sells GF goodies and also has Bagles to make a GF sandwitch if your out and about in Calgary. Its called Cabin Cafe on Bow Trial and 45 Street SW. Literally just went in for a coffee and saw a sign...had a chocolate rice puff square...oh yummy. Really nice staff (also a Celiac).

I have to agree with your family too. Love those! GF is just a bonus so that I can serve them to my friends too.

We'll have to try those. I think I've seen them at Safeway. My favorite chips are Miss Vickie's salt and vinegar. I'm addicted! Yum!

Hi Karen,

I may have been a bit harsh this morning on the chips producers. I do actually snack on some once in a while....

I gotta go and check out that coffee shop you found. As I always say, stay away from franchised places and seek out the individually owned joints, where the owners or management care about allergies.
I'll keep you posted

Hello Nicole,

Isabella loves Mrs. Vickies chips as well and always says, let's buy some of "Mama's" chips.

LOVE these things. There's a tomato parmesan flavor (I think that's what it is?) that is just amazing.

I haven't tried them yet, but several friends love them. I have some coupons (even a "free" one with no exp. date!) and will get some eventually though ... probably to share with the group.

Hi Allison,

it shows if you put out a great quality product, people will buy it.

We bought these wheelie looking things for my mom when she came here. They were really good!

I was on chowhound as anonymoose for a long time before I started bruleeblog. :)

And I've seen your recent posts in the Vegas board too! lol

I did a review on these chips, too. My friend bought them and let me sample them. I agree with you. They are okay, nothing spectacular. And, they have too many ingredients for my liking. I hope you are doing well in Canada. Has it started to warm up yet? Our tour is in the south and we are loving the mid-80's temperatures!

Hi Katrina,

here in YYC it is still cold, April 30th. But what can I say. I chose to live here....so I better stop complaining about the weather.
